FAQS

How did you get into make up?
I started getting into make up around aged 13-14 but there wasn’t much accessible information for me at the time, so I just learnt through trial and error. Aged 16 I started doing make up for photoshoots for friends and relatives, and aged 17 I started professionally and have built my career in print and film since then.

What Base and Top Coat do you use for your Nail photos?
I use Orly Bonder as my base coat, and have done for a long time, Ive tried others but this is one i keep coming back too, i use either Seche Vite Top Coat for a quick drying top coat, or Revlon Gel Top Coat if I’m feeling a little more patient, it still dries pretty quickly, but does have a tendency to pick up colour off the nail.

What camera do you use to photograph products?
Most of my badly lit, badly taken photos are shot on a Panasonic Lumix Tz40. I use this for mostly nail swatches when i need a light weight camera to take stable images without a tripod, I am living proof you can have a really pricey camera, and still take terrible photos. I also have a DSLR, however unless i am using my tripod i don’t tend to reach for this.

Do you use Nail Hardener?
Yes!! without a constant supply of nail strengthening products my nails go very soft and thin, this is probably down to using chemicals for work, may also be that i don’t consume dairy and kind of slack on the supplements sometimes. I use Nailtiques Formula 2 or Barielle Clearly Noticeable Nail Thickener under my base coat and swap when my nails become used to the current one. I despise OPI Nail Envy, on the record, it does nothing for my nails and peels off too quickly.
